LESS TWISTED/FOULED CAROLINA LEADERS
The bait is perfectly symmetrical so it is passive as if it travels through the air and water. It is weighted to help the bottom side stay down and the top side (hook-tip up). You can retrieve it slow or fast, it won’t spiral and spin as much as an asymmetrical bait, so your leader comes up nice and straight at the end of each retrieve. 
 
SUPER LONG CASTING
Due to the symmetrical, elongated prolate spheroid shape, this bait is as passive as it can be when traveling through the air and water. That means it will cast further than any other bait and won’t get pushed and spun around in the current of breaking waves as much as a traditional perch grub. 
 
NO MORE TAILS TORN OFF. GET HOOKSETS! 
Instead of getting tails torn off again and again as with traditional soft plastic perch grubs, the tail end of the Battlestar Hard Candy Perch Bait features a single point #2 hook, converting tail biters into more hooked fish! 
 
WIRE HOOK THROUGH HARD PLASTIC DESIGN 
Despite the original shape of this bait, it is made with the same structure as any plastic Jerkbait. It uniquely features a wire hook-through design for maximum strength, and a 2X strength hook. The Hard Candy can handle the heat! Perfect for Mondo 16”+ Surfperch, and ready for when the Striped Bass are biting! It also features an internal weight system to keep it in a horizontal orientation in the water, so the bait behaves optimally when flying through the air, or swimming at any speed. 
 
SUSPENDING ACTION 
Just like real fish food, be it cut or live bait, the Battlestar Hard Candy Perch Bait is designed to suspend in saltwater. It suspends in a horizontal position. This suspending action mimics real food and triggers bites. 
 
WOBBLING / DARTING ACTION 
When the Hard Candy perch bait is retrieved through the water, it produces a tight wobbling/darting action very similar to a sand crab drifting down the shore in the backwash of a large wave. Because water is 800 times more dense than air, this effect does not result when casting. It cuts through the air nice and straight for super long casting and expresses an erratic life-like action when retrieved through the water or paused against heavy current. 
 
REPLACEMENT HOOKS
The Battlestar Tackle HARD CANDY perch Bait comes with four, size #2, 2X strength replacement hooks, so you can remove the used hook and install a new hook prior to each fishing session. Always fish with brand new razor sharp hooks! Battlestar Tackle also offers packs of replacement hooks.
